About Field of Steve

The best way to handle this discussion is with a FAQ. For the uninitiated, FAQ means “frequently asked questions.” In my experience, however, FAQ generally means “a page full of questions that we want to answer so that we can sell more products and/or not have you bother us on the telephone. The chances that your question will be answered here are remote.” I haven’t bothered to check the acronym for that, but the last time I saw a FAQ that actually answered a question I really had was before I had teeth.

It’s no better here. Questions get answered here, sure. But they’re not anything you would ever ask.

Q: Why do you like the Dodgers?

A: A better question is why you have to ask.

Q: How much will your book cost when it’s published?

A: No matter how much, you’ll want the book enough that you’ll pay it.

Q: What happened in Palm Springs?

A: If anyone ever tells you, don’t believe it. Don’t ever believe it unless you hear it from me. And if you hear it from me, don’t believe that either.

More as they develop.
